Halak leads Habs to upset win | Hockey | Sports | Toronto Sun

PITTSBURGH – That they could do it again, beat a heavily-favoured opponent, well, of course there was the chance.

But like this?

The Montreal Canadiens, who had opened the Igloo for hockey here back in 1967 with a win, closed it for hockey for good in 2010 the same way.

They won Game 7 of their Eastern Conference semifinal 5-2 over the Pittsburgh Penguins, the defending Stanley Cup champions who were overwhelmed by the Habs, the moment, by their expectations.

The Canadiens best players were better than Pittsburgh’s.

Montreal goaltender Jaroslav Halak?

You won’t see a better bit of goaltending in these playoffs than the saves he made during two Penguins power plays in the opening six minutes of the third, the Canadiens up 4-2, but the unmistakable sense in the decrepit Igloo that the next goal would decide the game.

With the Penguins on a 4-on-3 advantage, a puck squirted out to Penguins captain Sidney Crosby at the edge of the crease and the shot hit Halak.

Wow they won again. This is definitely the biggest story of this playoff.  First Alexi Ovechkin and now Sidney Crosby, two of the games greats, Canadians are on a roll.  All this thanks to the goaltender Jaroslav Halak?  Great win Montreal, keep it up.  Bring the cup to Canada…

Perhaps the best left-arm fast bowler of all time, Wasim Akram could make the ball walk and talk like no one else did. An explosive, exciting genius who could change the game with the bat as well.

Well what can I say about this player.  I watched him when he played his first world cup match and was mesmerized.  The young Wasim Akram was always the great cricketer that you would love to watch.  Over the years he came to become one of the greatest cricketers of the world.  By the end of his career he went from a great bowler to a great all-rounder.  Enjoy this great cricketers legacy in the Legends of Cricket videos.

Gulf Oil Spill Is Spoiling Tourism – WSJ.com

Gushing Crude Halts Some Travel

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is causing some travelers to alter their plans, say researchers and hotels.

A survey conducted by the Knowland Group May 3 and 4 of 50 hotel properties along the Gulf Coast found that 35% of respondents say the oil spill has prompted potential guests to cancel their reservations. Many of the hotels surveyed said they are concerned that more cancellations and deferred arrivals are in the offing in coming weeks. The Knowland Group is a data-collection company that tracks activity at thousands of hotels world-wide. Of the hotels surveyed, 42% said the spill has hurt their ability to book future events. Sixty-two percent said they are accommodating travelers by not holding groups to a contract clause that prevents them from canceling reservations.
